The Ficus which is dry air tolerant

Ficus cyathistipula is native to tropical areas of Africa, so it is also called African fig tree. It grows relatively fast where it feels good. It develops into a small tree or a bush. With pruning it can be beautifully shaped.

Warm places preferred

Bright and warm place is the best for this ficus. The temperature should not drop below 18 ° C and ficus cyantistipula does not like sudden temperature changes. As with all figs, leave the soil slightly dry between two irrigation. Especially in dark, winter months, beware of over watering.

If it gets damaged, it releases a toxic juice

When growing, regular fertilization is required. Misting with soft water every once in a while,is helpful but it can withstand dry air better than other popular ficus spices. If it gets damaged, it releases a whitish, milk-like, toxic moisture.
